PoseidonPoseidon is Zeus' brother. He took the sea when his father, Cronus, died, so he is widely worshiped by seamen. He is usually seen with a trident, and is considered the god of water, horses and earthquakes. He is held responsible for shipwrecks and drownings. Myths describe him as good-looking with deep blue eyes and streaming green hair. The myths also say that at one point in his life he loved Demeter, so he created the first horse in order to please her. Poseidon held a special position on Mount Olympus, but he preferred his spectacular palace at the bottom of the sea.
